AIDS

What is amassing such an anbundance of casualites and fatalities
It is due to that syndrome which cause immunodeficiencies
There is no islet, no island, no country or continent  on this earth
That has not be enclaspe in its wide and expansive girth

In earlier times, they say it only inflicted the gays
But that thought has now turn to dismay, in many ways
Because even though it has been known to affect homosexuals
There is still no escape for those who are heterosexuals

There are  many schools of thought for its development
Some believe that it was the product of an experiment
But who or whatever is responsible for its initiation
It most certainly, by its mutation, poses some difficulty for its eradication.

But how many things are known to have that potential for disaster
Especially when done in an atmosphere of what was pleasure
Just like a chain reaction, this action is phenominal
The numbers inflicted, can be so exponential.

But to compound the growing and  very expensive problem
Look at the numbers of widows, widowers and orphaned children
Afflicted and would be a strain on the health budget
Could this not be avoided if all exercised caution before the act?

Now some contries have taken the situation a bit further
They are affixing a charge of manslaughter
On someone known to be immunocompromised, having a sexual relation
But failed to inform the other person, that they have the infection.

Then who would be there to sustain growth and continuity
When the reponsible ones are dead, dying or in the infirmary
Perhaps this problem's only and  best solution
Is for there, to be some form of divine intervension.

What is so amazing to see some people in ignorance or stupidity
Openly scorning the afflicted, as though they have an immunity
Seeming not to realise, that as long as they are alive and take that venture
They will increase that chance of being assigned a number.
