Flight Pondered
Airborne will be my place on the day
of rest
A period where thoughts will gather and
accompany me to my destination
Thoughts of her who brought me into this world
and of love that rose as the Sun did this morning
upon my heart
Golden years have come to say, share with her
who gave you life as time will soon come
to say goodbye and you will miss her
As the plane clears the runway, I shall
stare at the night sky, gazing at the stars
whose twinkles seem more like winks
Reasurring me she will be in good company
How I hope and wish upon them so
The holidays approach, but life will be celebrated
more than the season, as it is the cause upon
my arrival
It may just be my last chance of being her son
for a little longer
Pausing for a moment, I wonder if it is I
who will be taking flight, or her this day
