THE LAST ROSE OF SHARON

Last Rose of Sharon

I saw a Monarch butterfly the other day
He stopped to rest on the branch of a Rose of Sharon bush
He had brilliant black wings with gold inlay

I ask where he was going
"Home to Mexico,"  was his reply
"the days are getting short and it won't be long till

it is to cold for me fly -but- I will return in the spring
With that bit of information he spread his wings
took a grand bow off he flicked into the wind

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Under the tree where the bumble bee lived
I saw one poke his head out of his hole
He was black with a gold belt
He did a little dance on the ground and up
he flew to one of the last pink blooms on the tree
"hello",  I said to him
 "can't talk now I'm way to bussssssssy winter's coming
I have to get this last bit of nectar for my queen
Soon she will be hibernating,"  he buzzed
I looked around me
The shadows were falling long across the yard
Yes fall was in the air
I too must be busy
 getting ready for those
cold days when winter arrives
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Fall is in the air
when you see a Monarch butterfly
and the last blooms from the Rose of Sharon

We are to read
 the signs around us
and be ready when Christ our Rose Of Sharon returns
