Oh my God I feel so ashamed
I was angry, I was hurt, I rushed to place blame
I walked in the way that was not meant for me
So blinded by the flesh that I just couldn’t see
So involved in the world and the things there in
That I learned to justify even the ugliest of sin
Then at Your appointed place, and appointed time
I was lead by Your Spirit to leave sin behind
But when I reached back into my memory of sin to repent
I saw the many times Your word had been sent
Watching and waiting for me to answer your call
Loving me and protecting me though it all
The times I could have died, or been seriously maimed
Spared by grace, by the power of Your name
The times I was hungry, desperate, and broke
Relieved by Your hand that lifted my yoke
Every time I fell and wanted to stay down
Although I could not see it, You were always around
Even clubs, wild parties, and drunken brawls
The crime and the drugs, Your were there through it all
Watching and protecting, waiting so patiently
Even before my mothers womb, You’ve loved me
By Your grace I am saved through perseverance of Your love
In every place that I’ve been, every circumstance I think of
He who is forgiven little loves little, but for much there is much
Oh how grateful, how grateful I am for Your touch
Thank You for mercy, thank You for grace
The You for Your sacrifice, and for pleading my case
For your patience in the testimony You were creating
Thank You Lord for watching, thank You for waiting
