Abuse
How often do we get overawed by the thrills of romance
Without taking anytime to observe at any instance
Any strange moods, behavioural changes or personality traits
Which may be problematic at some later date.
Yes one can accept some little feeling of jealousy
Putting it down to be a part of humanity
But when it occurs regularly and the intensity
This should raise some redflags in the mind instantly.
Don't think that after marriage, there will be some change
This may perhaps bring more variety to the range
Instead of threats and verbal abuses, may start slapping around
And then some day later the body, the fist may pound.
Then there is isolation from friends and family
So you become dependent on that person totally
Then to those who are around, will make many excuses
When the face bears many marks of those recent punches.
As always at home will be greeted by words that will downplay
Also criticising what you do, no matter what others say
All this is done with the purpose and intent
To dipel you hopes, shatter you dreams, thus giving your self esteem a dent,
This most certain will put you in a state of depression
In this state, you will believe that you created the situation
Therefore to compensate, will think that is it your duty
To be at the other's mercy and as well feel honour by their pity.
There were times i am sure when you feel like having a conversation
Was not given any permission, so therefore did not get any attention
The silence was deafening, and the atmosphere was like ice
Looks that were so disparaging were all that arrive.
Don't stick aroung and tolerate such indignity no more
Using that excuse, it is only for children it you endure
The best thing for them is for you to be strong and be confident
So get out of the situation, there is no hope or enjoyment.
