Poetic Verses
The Addict
There he goes, skinny, and seemingly so dehydrated
His eyes were deep into the orbits, like they had retreated
The clothes appeared to be able to go twice around him
Those around often wondered how he could get so thin
Shamelessly he forage in the garbage for something to eat
Soles so cracked and he wore no shoes on his feet
This transformation, took many by suprise, because as a person
He was disdainful and cautic; some say perhaps that was retribution.
Patrons of the restaurant who ate in the open air
Appearing to be happy, laughing heartily with little care
The he arrived and with on quick swoop
Took all the food away from the entire group.
All their eyes opened in such great surprise
Could not believe their eyes the way in which they were deprive
Of their meal, but now they only felt some pity
As they watch him devour it so voraciously.
This behaviour is the product of his great addiction
He never accepted it, or paid the signs any attention
But paid the price, and now feel the humilation and pain
When he took his many trips with bouts of cocaine.
Then came the moments of aggressive baviour
Quickly getting into rage and displaying a foul temper
Then on the steets was trying to sell some precious items
This alerted many people to what later became the root of the problems.
The others in the house had to deal with the bother
Of those constant calls and threats by the pusher
Then things got worse and he sang much deeper
Resulting in him lying and stealing from his employer
No home, no work therefore now cannot support his need
Some people made fun of him and made him do some degrading deeds
Many times was beaten as he could not pay
But this did not make him change in any way
He made some attempts to bring his life to an end
This was at overdosing and this was often
How he survived, it was hard to comprehend
So he dicided to go into rehabilitation for his as a means to an end.
