I AM THE CHILD

Photobucket

Lying here in the darkness
My mind quietly turns,
Reflecting on lessons
Your child has to learn.

Some are so hard and I
Cry through each trial.
But you are the Father
And I am the child.

There are times when I feel
I just cannot go on.
The way is too straight
And the challenge too strong.

When others misjudge me
I long to give up.
But these are the moments
You refill my cup.

I change with each season...
I grow with each year.
You fix what gets broken...
You bottle each tear.

If You will look deep
In my heart You will see
All of the good things
You've brought out in me.

I am the child You have
Touched and made whole.
Yours were the Hands
In the making and mold.

If my edges need smoothing
Lord, bring out your file...
For You are the Father
And I am the child.

Lovingly Presented,
Doris Jacobs-Covington

"Our Father:
Who art in Heaven

Halloweth be Thy Name
Thy Kingdom come
Thy will be done
On earth as it is in Heaven
Give us this day
Our daily bread
Forgive us our trespasses
As we forgive those
Who trespass against us
And lead us not into temptation
But deliver us from evil
For Thine is the kingdom,
The power and the glory
Forever and ever....
Amen."
