Poetry For Everyday People
Strangers We're Not
I figured
you'd come
looking for me
at some point,
it's never
too late here,
I am bound
to sit here
and wait for
you, forever,
whenever you're ready,
whenever our path
cross, whenever
you need to go digging
for me,
I sit with the words,
simmering in life,
in sweet blues,
I do it all here,
dip your pain
in,
undress your fear,
unfold your memories,
have a sip.
you'd come
looking for me
at some point,
it's never
too late here,
I am bound
to sit here
and wait for
you, forever,
whenever you're ready,
whenever our path
cross, whenever
you need to go digging
for me,
I sit with the words,
simmering in life,
in sweet blues,
I do it all here,
dip your pain
in,
undress your fear,
unfold your memories,
have a sip.
