Christmas
There is no other occasion like the Christmas season
This sort of presents the grumps with an occasion
To somehow replace all those frowns that seem so dreary
WIth a look the borders on one that seems to be merry
What an atmosphere there will be in the street
The music of christmas, and the many carols sung as they get repeat
As the shoppers hustle and bustle from every quarter
With present all artistically wrapped in beautiful paper.
Even the streets, the houses and the stores such beautiful sights
Well decorated with trees, and an assortment of colourful lights
Whilst the children line up even as nightime draws
To get a glimpse of, or get a present from Santa Claus
Many businesses very grateful for this burst of activity
Having to replace depleting stocks with great regularity
And in keeping with the spirit of the season and also for added attraction
Offer some bargains, even offering purchasers a chance in a cash competition.
Then there are those whose eyes will emit a glow
When there is the presence of some falling snow
As the temperature drops and some chills it imparts
They negate this, by that warmth that fill their hearts.
Amid all this joy that in this season is found
There is always that ringing bell. such a familiar sound
Directing those in wake to take time to remember the needy
So exercise that spirit of goodwill with some charity.
As always in our time of such joy and merriment
We tend to forget those who are in a predicament
So at christmas let it be one in which we
Extend joy, cheer and happiness to all people unversally.
