The Golden Ship

As I stared at the cloudless sky
I saw a golden ship pass by,
on its way to Timbuktu,
a Captain and his gallant crew.

They carried cargo very rare -
spices and herbals enough to share.
The goods to market to be sold
for payment made in priceless gold.

They sailed along and circled ‘round
and set the ship down on the ground.
The Captain asked me if I knew
which way to go to Timbuktu.

I then said, ”no, but may you know
I've never had the chance to go.”
The Captain said, “come on aboard
and we'll be off for our reward.”

Then I awoke from my deep sleep
and from the bed I took a leap;
I shook my head to clear my brain
and said thank God, I'm not insane!
