The morning mist slid down into the valley,
as Ancients gathered ‘round the Prophet Stone.
It was to be a day of celebration;
this was the day they made the Earth their home.
The Ancients taught Mankind and shared their knowledge,
in hopes Man would become a race of worth.
The Ancients kept a record of all progress;
ten thousand years they'd spent with Man on Earth.
The morning sun was rising at day's dawning.
The Ancients gathered ‘round the Prophet Stone.
It was the day the sacred Stone would tell them,
if Mankind learned the lessons they were shown.
A picture soon appeared upon the tablet.
It showed the people fighting in the streets.
The cities were destroyed, and every nation
had starving masses without food to eat.
The Ancients knew their work was not complete,
for Mankind had become a race of greed.
The people did not care about each other,
and Man was self-destructing at lightspeed.
The Ancients now no longer live among us,
as Man was shown that life on Earth would cease.
The lesson took ten thousand more to master,
but now, at last, all Mankind lives in peace.
The Prophet Stone's a story that is told here,
of the universe and how the Ancients roam;
lest Mankind should forget the wisdom given,
by Ancients when they called the Earth their home.
