 53. Faults Premise
Either this
Or
That.
Giving me
Two choices
Doesn't mean
I don't have
Any other options.
I'm the queen
Of breaking the rules,
That anyone
Sets forth
Before me…

Alone or in
Relationship?
Really you've
Never been in a relationship
Where you felt alone?
Where you were
Single and never
Had a moment
To yourself?
So much more
Is possible
Than the dichotomies
Presented to us
Everyday,
It's only a matter
Of perspective.

The trap is the
Question,
Which do you want?

I know it's supposed
To be a “false” premise,
But isn't it really
About finding
Fault?
Who's to blame?
Where asking
The question is
To admit that there
Is a prison.
Doing so makes
The walls solid,
The chains real,
The jailers cruel.

The war on Terror,
Or freedom?
See the trap?
Feel the jail?
The lack
Of options?
Like noose
Around our
Necks?

Questioning
The lack of choices
Gives freedom.

It doesn't
Matter whose
Fault it is
Our lack
Of options
Or who set
Forth the choices,
But
To question
Why it is that
Way in the
First place,
And to choose
Our perspectives,
Rather than
Taking only
The ones
Given to
Us.

Finding fault
And placing blame
Doesn't solve
Problems,
Waking up
Becoming aware
Choosing perspective
And taking
Responsibility
Does.

Only then
Do we become
Free
From the
Fault of the
False premise.
