 The Unfairness Of Angels

65

If you were still alive
Today you'd be 65
We'd give you cuddles
And lots of snuggles
I'd write something nice in your card
A poem, which for me's not hard
You'd cry at the words and smile
And then we'd talk for a while
Your present would be something personal
You would not mind if it was big or small
As long as it was a gift from the heart
A perfect Birthday, a perfect start
We'd go for a meal or have a take away
As long as the family weren't far away
All you wanted was your boys around you
That's what a Birthday was to you
Vivid and clear, like the dawn of day
We love you still, on your Birthday
And although now we're minus one
It's still your birthday, your still our mum.
