 56. Gratitude 100 fold
(inspired by Jami & Boots)

Perhaps it is
Just the person
I am,
Or the circumstances
Of my life,
But I don't
Need a hundred
Days to find
100 things
To be grateful
For as
An exercise
For today…
For every
Breath is
One of
Gratitude
Because I am
Acutely aware
Of the gift
Each living breath
Is on this Earth…
It is a privilege
Not a burden,
It is a present
Not something
To mourn
As one gets
Older,
Like it's
A shame
That youth
Has gone
From us.

I am grateful
That I am alive,
That I returned
To live,
Not once but
Three times,
So thrice,
I am filled
With gratitude
To still be here.

Four.
To write poetry,
And have that
Gift and privilege
To do so everyday
For myself and
For those lives
I touch by doing so.

Six.
For my friend
Jesse,
Who even though
He is a soldier
A world away
Still inspires
Me daily,
I give daily
Thanks and gratitude
For his continued
Existence in my
Life,
Everyday
He continues to
Live to inspire
Me.

Seven.
That even though
I keep getting sick,
My body also
Gets better,
Though it may
Recover more
Slowly than most,
We still recover,
So that we may
Live,
To touch the lives
Of others
And make this
World better
Than we found it.

Eight.
That many of
My loved ones
Support me
In a myriad of ways,
Through a roof
Over my head,
Phone,
Food,
Medicine,
Shoes,
Clothes,
Rides,
Gas,
And more
Not even
Mentioned.

Twenty-eight.
For all the near
Misses I know
That have nearly
Hit this little
Blue spec
Of a ball
Floating in the
Vastness
Of space,
That we continue
To have a
Planet called
Home.

Twenty-nine.
For all the love
I am blessed with
Everyday,
Through my Beloveds,
Who give me
What they can
When they can,
Despite the busy
Lives and other
Obligations they
Have,
They still find time
Here and there
For me.

Thirty-nine.
For my school,
The people there
Who have encouraged me
Through teachers
And fellow students,
Who daily
Teach and inspire
Me.
For all of the beautiful
Events they have
Put on through
My time there
That has irrevocably
Changed the course
Of my life,
Including
Bringing me
Back to poetry,
I am forever
Grateful and changed
Everyday,
Still.

Fifty.
For the poet men
Of Denver,
Who have shown me
What being a good
Man is,
And that they
Do indeed
Not only exist,
But thrive.
They have healed
My soul,
And I am so
Filled with gratitude
Every week
With their continued
Presence in my life
And their poetry,
Which never fails
To move me.

Sixty.
To my muse,
To my Beloved
Of Beloveds,
With whom
I am in never
Ending conversation
With,
All the days
Of my life,
Leading me
Through synchronicity
And every
Circumstance
Through this beautiful
Gift called
My life,
For all the
Little amazing
Things you
Do for me
Everyday,
Thank you.

Eighty.
For Facebook,
The forum
For my thoughts
And the ability
To connect
With far more
People where
I am able to
Make a difference
Everyday,
Thanks Mark,
For being inspired
Enough to
Follow your dreams
So that I could
Not only realize
Mine,
But help other
People realize
Theirs.

Eighty-One.

For the home
I have found
In Rooster & Moon
And my little
Family there,
Where I have
Food,
Company,
Warmth
And fulfilled
Purpose
Everyday I
Am blessed
To be there.

Eighty-eight.
For my scooter,
I am grateful
For all that it
Does for me
Getting me here
And there
Teaching me
So much
About myself,
And giving
Me the opportunity
To meditate
As I ride
Fully engaged
In the world.
Thank you my
Little LiLu.

Eighty-Nine.
Even though
My parents
And brother
Drive me nutz
I love them
And am grateful
They and I have
Lived long enough
To reconcile
And become
A family again.

Ninety-Two.
For all of those
Unseen people
Who in the darkness
Read my poetry
And unknowingly
Encourage me
To keep going.
I have no idea
Of their numbers,
But I am
Grateful none the less
For their silent
Encouragement,
Though I long
For comments,
Their daily
Devotions
To read
My poetry,
Never cease
To amaze
And inspire me.
Thank you.

One-Hundred.
I am grateful
For Jami and Boots
Who inspired me
To write this,
And who
On a daily basis
My heart goes
Out to,
Though it may
Not be said
Or expressed
Out loud.
Their struggles
To be grateful
Make me realize
All the more
How lucky
I am
That I am
So blessed
To find ease
In my gratitude,
So that if I share
It,
Others may find
It too.
Thank you
Beloveds,
For being
In my life,
For choosing
To stay here
On Earth,
Everyday,
So that you
May continue
To inspire me,
And others
Each in
Your own
Way.

Thank you.
Thank you.
Thank you.
