FOOL

FOOL

I remember when I was at school
One day I thought myself to be a fool,
I`ll tell you just what happened that day
And what caused me to think that way.

am I a fool?

On this day we had maths homework
And this was something I`d rather shirk,
This was far from my favourite subject
Given the chance one that I`d reject.

The homework was set and that was that
Now it was something I had to combat,
I thought to myself, `Oh that`s not too bad`
For it was graphs and of this I was glad.

Graphs were something that I could do
Something for which I did have a clue,
Once complete I gave a sigh of relief
I`d done a good job was my belief.

But next morning on my way to school
I seriously started to wonder if I was a fool,
Everyone`s graphs were different from mine
And so my confidence started to decline.

I handed my work in like all the rest
I started to get myself so distressed,
I waited to be laughed at by the class
For getting it wrong I`d look a jackass.

am I a fool?

My heart sank as she called my name
All I could think of was the shame,
I must be the only one to get it wrong
I hoped my agony she wouldn`t prolong.

am I a fool?

My name she called as I did suspect
But what she said next I didn`t expect,
For I was the only one to get it right
I could hardly contain my own delight.

who is the fool?

The majority are usually right as a rule
That would have left me being the fool
This time was different for I got it right
Leaving the majority not looking bright.

who is the fool? - NOT I !!!

There is a moral to this story it seems
Sometimes a majority only means
That all the fools are on the same side

So it`s ok to stand alone and with pride.
