As People of God
Since you were brought back to life,
You have experienced the strife;
For not focusing above,
On Jesus Christ and His love.
Keep your mind on godly things,
Rather than joys the earth brings;
Since you have had a rebirth,
No longer are you from earth.
You died and life is hidden,
As long as not backslidden;
You stay in the comfort zone,
With Christ alongside His throne.
Your life is now within Christ,
Since you have been sacrificed;
When He appears then you too,
His glory will shine through you.
So put to death worldly sin,
That is corrupting within;
It makes Him angry you stray,
Causing you to disobey.
For if you remain a slave,
Eternity is your grave;
And then never will you see,
Heaven for eternity.
