One Minute Past Midnight
Working seven days a week, desperate
To make her mark on the movie
Industry, drugs and publicity, keep the
Up and coming starlet, on her feet
Her lines, gestures and elocution were
Perfection personified in every scene,
But one minute passed midnight, she
Collapsed to her death on the stage
I guess in show biz, that's called
A rap, her role now fell into her
Understudies lap
She now stood trembling, before the
Judgment seat of God, she pleads
For pardon, said of salvation, she'd
Never heard
A small tattered bible was now
Placed in her hand, she opened
The cover, her name inscribed within
Written upon the aged pages, the day
She'd given her heart to the LORD
She remembered now quite clearly
Though it had been long ago
Satan had come so quickly, sprinkled stardust
In her eyes, she turned her back on
Jesus, and sealed her fate that night.
