 My today's thoughts

A DISH OF RUBIES

A DISH OF RUBIES

God's Blanket

Auburn leaves ablaze in all shades of reds
rich as a dish of rubies
Burgundy blushing at the beauty of crimson hues

Autumn is aglow
in the months of October and November
Yesterday's green foliage now arrayed in royal splendor

Amber in all tints of yellow
illuminates across fields of gold ready for harvest
Brilliant as rays reflect on nuggets of grain

Purple and violet turns to lavender
majestic in their stance
readying nature for winter's nap

Crops are gathered and stored
Hues of copper and silver blend
Autumn will soon be at its end

Jack Frost awakes blowing his deep chill
The memory of autumn's splendor
still remains on their bare limbs

Sweetgum - Maple - River Birch's
bare trunks wrapped in winter's bark are waiting for spring's new robes
God's Blanket  of colorful leaves now covers the ground
