Poetic Verses
The Christmas Season
It is quite a happy and yet so relaxing, the Christmas season
During this time, no matter people find the occasion
To let the mind, body and soul exudes some form of happiness
Releasing all that accumulated year's problems and stress.
It appears the even the environment and the atmosphere
Transpose on all that feeling of such care and cheer
And most of all the radiance on the faces of the little children
Add another bright spot to the spirit of the season.
This season, cause those people who have a strained realtion
Readily put aside that perceived difference of opinion
Letting that aspect of the humanity comes to the fore
As love, peace and goodwill on each they will pour.
The child in me comes out in such great unbridled delight
When there is that display, and such a variety of lights
Some singing, others blinking and flashing, presenting such a sight
That too add something to the season that just makes it right.
But this is something that always somehow capitivate me
Spending time artistically decorating the christmas tree.
Then that aroma which emanates from the leaves of the pine
Fortify in the mind, that it is the advent of christmas time.
In the stores all the aisles, corners and even quarters
Are well populated with all those many shoppers
And the children with smiling faces, all in glee
Keep queuing to see or get a chance to sit on Santa Claus' knees.
Even those companies show the workers how much they care
By letting know that along with that salary a bonus is there
So as an added incentive they too throw in readily
Gifts of appreciation, as well a sponsor a staff party.
On that day some people always do a particular thing
Like going to church to hear the bells ring as they sing
Then later in the day, spend the time just happily
Opening gifts, having lunch, and fun with friends and family.
Then after the merriment of that day, then they prepare
For what challenges they may encounter the next year
That year goes out and a new one is introduced with a blast
Then later settle down to what will be a daunting task.
