The color of the sky above
12,000 feet
In the Colorado Rockies,
Or what I saw
When I looked
Into the flesh
And blood
Woman
Of Lynda Carter's
Eyes,
Not just the
Legend of
Wonder
Woman.
The color
Of my birthstone
Plucked from
The earth
That is the
Deepest tone
To make me
Weep.
For the waters
Off the shores
Of Hawaii,
Where the
Coral reefs
Keep out
The sharks,
And small
Girls
Can swim
Free from
Fear.
When the skies
Are dark and
Thick with
Thunderclouds
And the electric
Tang tingles
The hair
On the
Back of
Your neck
As the brightest
Blinding
Image
Of power
Bursts into
A thousand
Splinters
A nearby
Unseen
Tree.
There's this
One stick
Of chalk
For which
No other
Compares…
When trying
To make
The coming
Of night
Fall
In the sky,
And the
Sun hits
The pigment
On the
Pavement,
With the
Most incredible
Hue.
What would
Red and White
Be without it?
Peppermint,
Not
Patriotic.
It is my
Favorite color,
And
All I know
Is that
When I see it
My soul
Sings.
