The Mirror

That morning, as you looked at yourself in the mirror
Looking at your aging image , showing that you are getting older
As your eyes stare longer, thoughts got deeper
Then your mind began to  show some of your life's pictures.

Some of the images that this reflection began to depict
Were some of those you will admit, that you would rather forget
But those were the ones that came to the fore more and more
So you wonder why on earth, in all those years, they would not let you go.

A shiver came across when something from your conscience
Reenact a moment from you past, where you said you wanted vengence
When you used your clout backed by the companies heavy weight
To get a friend transferred, so his position you could take.

Then you will see that time when those little children
Came to you door sing songs, you did not even smile not even as a token
But chased them all away, they were crying as they fled in dread
No you never  happy to see them, bacause of that closed selfish life you led.

That day when you started to climb higher up the corporat ladder
You acted then like you are there now and nothing else matter
So people in your town, were all wagering each man
That how long will it take, before you turned your back on family and friend.

As you remained fixed by the mirror, you realised to you horror
That all things is finite, and will not last forever
And in the process of progress and the passage of time
All that pompt and good lifestyle you may have to leave behind.

Now as you even in that moment, may wonder where the time went
Perhaps there is nothing else to do, as you are now in retirement
In you ascent, you have happily disposed of your family and friends
Even your health now too is begining to pose a problem.
