As time goes by and autumn leaves fall
the memories of a lifetime fall too
Casting reflections of old love and past deeds
gathering our worth in what we achieved
As the day end and life comes to a close
our worth is in the memories we leave behind
a child, poem, or a recipe for spaghetti
In total it is the people we leave behind
with their memories and impressions of us
Worth is the remembering of our deeds
good or bad is the road to immortality
Where our ideas flourish in the souls of others
Creating a path where remembering is a gift
not a hindrance that would be a penalty.
