 The Errors Of Our Ways
Forgiveness has a price sometimes quite high
Reactions yours mixed with failed tries
To stay focused, to not press hard
Your hand dealing loves setback card

Acknowledge when too late becomes
The heartbreak that you caused someone
Where trust becomes the high stakes game
Bluffing now won't do the same

Yet sit you do pushing your luck
Sweating details, running amok
Losing your way so near to dear
Closing your eyes to what you feared

Loss all yours becomes apparent
Gains you made like glass transparent
Are shattered like the dreams you kept
Your self imposed prison, inept

Sorry is a start, maybe too late
Becomes of you, your just due fate
So sit you do wishing to wake
From ill cause journey, amends to make

We all fall short and blind sometimes
Committing acts the senseless crime
Breaking ties instead of breaking bread
Today alone are you spoon fed

A side of loss cooked slowly to
Bring to light that part of you
That shoots from hip with no real gun
Biting the bullet that left you stunned

Drink yourself into damnation
Converse alone of failed relation
Succumb to where life parted ways
Were your grave errors that set the stage
