Disrespecting the WordYou have rejected His warning, Trusted oppression and deceit; So better watch out some morning, For finding yourself in defeat. Your sin is just like a high wall, That is having a bulging crack; And looking as ready to fall, When it suddenly gets a whack. It will break just like pottery, Smashed so that nothing will be left; And you will be in poverty, After thieves accomplished their theft. You can be saved if you return, And be able to have the rest; So with judgment you will not burn, Knowing that you have passed the test. You can be strong within your trust, And quiet to what God commands; Instead of pleasures that you lust, While standing on sinking sands. But do you desire for that, For loose women that are fast; And fancy food that makes you fat, Are your style but will not last. Copyright © 2010 Richard Newton Sherrer Vote for this poem
