THE WAY YOU WHISPER MY NAME
I hear melody when you whisper my name,
I've never heard it expressed nearly the same;
Some things have their own unique sound,
You’d know them if your eyes were bound;
Water bubbling over pebbles in a stream,
You’d recognize what it was in a dream;
Birds chirping at the break of dawn,
Smile a little as you stretch and yawn;
Then could it be that I have no choice?
That it's just the timbre of your baritone voice?
I sometimes sit and enjoy the view,
Listen to natural sounds so pure and true;
Gentle breezes rustling through the leaves,
Rain pouring softly down from the eaves;
Your voice gently whispering my name,
Nobody else can make it sound the same.
I hear melody when you whisper my name,
I've never heard it expressed nearly the same;
Some things have their own unique sound,
You’d know them if your eyes were bound;
Water bubbling over pebbles in a stream,
You’d recognize what it was in a dream;
Birds chirping at the break of dawn,
Smile a little as you stretch and yawn;
Then could it be that I have no choice?
That it's just the timbre of your baritone voice?
I sometimes sit and enjoy the view,
Listen to natural sounds so pure and true;
Gentle breezes rustling through the leaves,
Rain pouring softly down from the eaves;
Your voice gently whispering my name,
Nobody else can make it sound the same.
