THE COMFORT OF YOUR TOUCH

This morning I woke up feeling down and out and blue,
All I could think about was getting close to you;
I couldn't stop the pain, the tears and the sighs,
I longed for your love, the understanding in your eyes;

I never know when I'm gonna feel down and blue,
I just hope it never happens when I'm far away from you;
When you can soothe and comfort me as only you can,
Get my thoughts together, be myself again;

These painful feelings have hurt me in countless ways,
But your love has rescued me on many days;
Today, as always, the comfort of your touch
Has eased my pain so very, very much!
