a cowboy rides away©
Don't turn the lights out
the party's not over yet,
for he'll be giving a shout
from heaven we won't forget.
He was a cowboy turned announcer
a legend on and off the field,
and no matter what would occur
down home texas humor always healed.
Now legend Dandy Don
rides off into the sunset at 72,
and what a ride he took us on
a guy with the surname Meredith is who.
He's now gone home
to that big field in the sky,
but while he was here how he could charm&roam
that announcer booth and field my oh my!
