Of Pine Needle and Hair of Gold
A strand of yours and yesterdays
Brought life anew to a Gray day
As it would catch attention mine
As did solo needle of pine
They caught my eye as drive we did
Upon a seat and bed line hid
A glimpse of you once Gold now Red
Of better days and things once said
Inside my heart they danced leaving
Their hellos, goodbye completing
Their rounds today reminding me
How good it was, heartfelt agreed
The Pine needle would peek below
Tail gate just shy waving hello
As pulled it did upon heart strings
Gently playing peace offering
The strand of Gold accompanied
Memory held dear setting you free
For there was good in holding both
Upon my hand, soon to elope
We miss you as I'm sure you know
As time did pass and too would go
Leaving a part of things held dear
As magic left, and tear appeared
