Calming of the SeaOf those who sail the sea, As seaworthy can be; Have seen what God can do, With the storms that come through. For miracles performed. While the waves had stormed; No vessel was a match, That the water could snatch. As the storm starts to blow, Darkened skies did not glow; Making the waves rise high, As nature would defy. Sailors aboard the ship, Kept falling as they slip; Plunging into the deep, Courage a melted heap. Their skills became useless, As they cried in distress; By deciding to share, Onto the Lord in prayer. Suddenly there was calm, So tranquil like a palm; God had made it all still, For it was in His will. Copyright © 2010 Richard Newton Sherrer Vote for this poem
