 The Gift
Before time, it was given
No fancy bows or ribbons

No lights spread about to bring
attention to

But His light, perfectly placed so that man
would have it abide
A gift unlike, Heaven sent
at no cost, but to His son

Though we celebrate
we fail to acknowledge why

Losing ourselves in cups of eggnog
Comfortably in our Gingerbread homes
with canes swirling
of peppermint

And though this write is not to rain on anyones
Christmas day parade
It would be nice to remind ourselves
who and what its all

The Gift became us, mortal
But an example of perfection
in an unforgiving world

Humility to learn from

To love, not out of pocket
but of the heart where the gift is

This year, pause if for a moment
and give of yourself to another

For in doing so you have done
as He did

May peace be yours and the gift that
needs no holiday

As everyday should be Christmas
as it was and is His wish

Backgrounds Christmas Pictures, Images and Photos

The Gift that came, gave
and keeps giving
