Power's Demise

If I was the last living human being on Earth,
what would the things be that held any worth.
I could be a General In an army of one,
I could rob banks without a gun.
I could have gold, treasures and rings,
I could have a stage where I'm the rock star that sings.
I could be the ruler of a planet of one.
I could be a beach comber all warm in the sun.
I could be the one with the only one right religion,
I could make statues of me to suit all the pigeons.
I could fly planes, drive trucks and large boats.
I could live in castles surrounded by moats.
I could sit in the White house where the great men have sat,
I could live under a box in an alley surrounded by rats.
I could be the Governor in a state made of one,
I could be a voter that knew the out come.
I could be a policeman with no laws to enforce,
I could be a lawyer that didn't handle divorce.
I could launch the rest of the bombs that weren't used,
I could report about it on the eight O'clock news.
I could be an explorer with still even new things to find,
until I realized worth, greed and power caused the end of mankind...
