 Snow '10

Watching the flakes softly falling in the moonlight;
Covering the drab brown pallet winter has wrought.
A fresh coat of whitewash cleansing life of the blues;
Falling deeper, inch by beautiful inch, snowbound…

Everywhere to go, no way to get there;
My agenda placed on hold by Mother Nature.
Relaxing by the fire, curling up with a good book;
Let it snow… let it snow… let it snow…

The next morning, time to dig out and get moving;
No longer can we lay around without being called lazy.
Playing in the snow with my shovel in my hand;
Creating a way to bring my life back to normal.

Christmas shopping resumes with a vengeance;
A day was lost; rushing to make up the time.
Gone is the peace, the tranquility, the gentleness;
The snow now dirty, touched by human hands.

But don't we all love those moments of quiet reflection;
When the beautiful white flakes of snow does fall?
What would happen if it didn't stop snowing for a week?
Would we achieve some awesome epiphany about life?

Life goes on, hurry here, hurry there…
My soul waits for the next snowy forecast.
Gentle is the feelings when watching snow;
Peace on earth, good will to all men. Snow.
