READY, SET, GO!
I bought a magic doll yesterday
And how this dolly loves to play!
She doesn't smile or wink her eye, it's true
But she'll play peek-a-boo with you!
She sits quietly on my kitchen table
But when I walk by, to my surprise
Dolly lifts her little pink blanket
And covers up her big blue eyes.
She asks, "Where did you go?"
Then says, "I see you
"Here you are, Mommy
"Peek-a-boo!"
When my telephone rings
I have to put her away
Because she won't stop talking
This dolly wants to play!
So I put her in my bedroom
And close the door
But she's okay, this little elf
She sits on my bed and talks to herself!
Oh, how I dread Christmas day!
That awful day when I'll give her away (:-(
I know she'll be happy
This dolly's no dope
Yes, she'll have a younger, better Mommy
In my great-grandaughter, Etalia Hope.
Three-year-old Etalia
Will know just what to do
When she hears her new baby
Say "Peek-a-boo!"
Great-grandma will go home and write a poem
How will it begin? Yes, you know
It will start with three words,
"Ready, set, go!!!"
