(This was written to a young homeless African poet in Ghana 5 days before Christmas. He could find nothing to be happy about because he is homeless. Normally he is full of love for God and life. Here is his website: www.rbotchwey.blogspot.com)
I will ask my
Beloved of Beloveds
to send you some help...
be on the lookout
for someone
with friendly eyes
be respectful to them,
not overly desperate
act as if the universe
will take care of it
so walk with your
back straight
know you are loved
walk like
you are loved
you will be amazed
what that alone
will do.
No I have no money
To send you,
But,
what I can give
is worth more.
Walk as if
you are loved
practice it
because it is
the truth
&
sometimes
you forget.
Do you understand
that who I am telling
is the Divine
and the Divine
is there
where you are
not here
on this side
of the monitor
that I am telling
the higher selves
of the people
who walk past you.
But you
have given up
on them
and so in return
they have
given up
on you.
I am restoring
that hope
because
you can hear the truth
in what I say
see them all with new
believing eyes.
Do you understand
that you need
to look at the people
around you
without the
disappointment
of the people
who let you down in
the past.
I hope you have
some hope now.
Consider that then
my Christmas present
to you.
Hope.
The present is hope
for if you want
people to see
God's light
in you
you must see it
in them
first.
