Lease On Life
Life was broken 'til I answered thy plea
A place to excel was what I searched for
You employed the spirit deep within me
by handing me keys to open that door
All I could give thee was all of my time
What thee gave back was a new lease on life
I followed the pattern as in a rhyme
that led me where it would ease up my strife
An opportune moment beckons away
as I stand at the threshold of the door;
and if I could, you know here I would stay
in fairytale fashion, forevermore
A conflict of interest cuts like a knife
but I thank thee for a new lease on life
