So This Is Christmas
The years have grown so lean and mean
Somewhat we've lost what use to seem
Christmas of day not long ago
A thought to ponder what made it so
Surely back then as is today
Gifts were exchanged and also played
A part where three wise men came to
Pay homage as foretold they knew
But what of gift that you've been given
Life yours lived by breath forgiven
Has time eluded you this much?
To give back to whom you've lost touch
Like gift purchased, you were also
His prized possession, He made it so
Only one thing simple asked for
To love like Him, to all adore
Today He sits unwrapping gifts
From burdens bared and too the sick
Each one cradled in arms His wide
So learn from this, be more the wise
Christmas doesn't come but once a year
It's everyday, if thought out clear
The greatest gift was He who came
Baring gifts, each not the same
That's her and him and they and them
Your fellowman to not condemn
But to love and give back to
A piece of Him seems man outgrew
