Oh to go back to a simpler time
neighbors were friends towing the line,
we didn't have to lock our door
for fear of robbers by the score.
Oh yes we had our enemy
who we put in their place for all to see,
but when it was all said and done
we came out the better one.
But today so many stab us in the back
ones we once trusted itching to attack.
Respect is something that must be earned
that is something we've come to learn,
too many take for granted human life
much too busy living by the knife.
We all need to honor thy brother
and stand together with one another,
but if we let our guard down i'm afraid
by our brother we'll be betrayed.
If only peace was a weapon of choice
but then again i'm just one small voice,
to ever have peace on earth
we must fight for all it's worth!
