For someone who told me they'd be better off dead!!

I was told this morning he wants to give up,
Lie down, die, get out!
‘And why is that' so you ask yourself?
Well I'll tell you without a doubt!!!!
Because he can't cope with life!
Why? Because he lost his job and he has debt!
And he feels like it's the end of the world!
Well welcome to the real world cos this is what we get!!!
We get things thrown our way in life;
Things we would rather not!
Well that's just tough, oh but it is!
Because we are stuck with what we've got!!
Wishing and wanting to be dead!
Damn it that's the coward's way out!
And when that reaper comes a-knocking!
Trust me; you will want to live, without a doubt!
And why do you think I say that so easy?
Well this I shall tell you true!
Cos no matter my trials and pain in life!
That's one damn thing I'll never do!!!
My life is precious; oh but it is!
And I will never lay down and die!
For that statement I hear, it blows my mind!
Because that's a self-pitying cry!!!
It will make it easy on the family will it?
For us to die and let them worry less?
Well ask my kids what they feel on that!
Or tell me, could you hazard a guess?
My kids worry about me every day,
Not knowing if this will be my last!
Do they want me gone to ease their worry?
Do they want me in their past?
And one day when I'm dead and gone!
Do you think they will miss me true?
Oh but I can answer that right now!
That's one thing they would certainly do!
Yep, tomorrow I could get killed by a car;
But this I will tell you here and now!
I could die at the drop of a hat, oh yes,
Do I have thoughts of; ‘I want to be dead now?'
Damn it, no damn way do I!
Because I don't want to die, not yet!
So I struggle on to wake of a day!
But I do it, cos I'm stuck with what I get!
And a life of pain and torment as I have!
Will NEVER make me lie down and die!
For what would that do? Give my kids guidance?
That the easy way out is better than to try...
...To try and fight the fight every day!
To try and stay here in this place!
To try as hard as they might!
To try with the sadness they face!!!
My kids want me here, no matter what!
I want to be here so I fight, oh I do!
Do you think it's easy for me to do it?
Damn it; no! But if I can, so can you!!
I lost my friend suddenly last week;
She suffered so much bad health-
But she loved life!
Did she want to die?
