O Goddess Tara! To those who worship Thee,
Thou art the bestower of all desires, wealth
And prosperity; Thou art standing on Siva with
Right foot upon His breast and left upon His thigh.
Ever art Thou with a smiling lotus-like face.
Thy three eyes are beautiful like full-blown lotuses.
Thou holdest a severed head, a lotus,and a sword.
Thou art the energy of all pervading sound Aum,
Thou the presiding Deity of thought and word.
Thou art the creeper that grants all desires.
Thou art the bestower of all accomplishments,
Three are Thine eyes, as it were blue lotuses.
Ocean of kindness and compassion art Thou.
O Goddess of Space, brilliant art Thy garments,
Bright with galaxies like coiled serpents and
Thy waist is adorned with tiny tinkling bells.
Thou holdest the heads of demons of black holes
Dripping with blood, severed by Thy sword.
Thy waist also is girdled with heads of demons,
O Devi Tara, Thy forms are threefold- Gross,
Subtle, and Supreme pervading the Cosmos.
Thou art beautifully dark blue, like the starry sky
Beyond the reach of scriptures, incomprehensible.
Om Hrim Strim Hum Phat is Thy mystic mantra
Thou art accessible only through deep devotion!

By the service of Thy lotus feet,
Men of good deed attain liberation.
O Parameswari, Thou art the Spouse of Him
Who is Brahma, Vishnu, and the three-eyed One.
O Mother! he who neglects to serve Thy lotus feet,
But serves instead the Devas, and others gods
Who are themselves plunged in the ocean of samsara,
Is indeed and the most truly ignorant!
O Mother! those gods who receive on their crowns
The pollen which comes from Thy lotus-like feet,
Are able to keep their promise of conquest,
And to gain victory over their enemies in battle--
Such, without a doubt, are sheltered in Thy lap.
But their enemies who send forth the defiant challenge,
"I am the God, and none is equal to me in the world,"
Perish and meet such death as befits them.
O Devi Tara, O Formidable One!
Demons, Devils, Ghosts,evil spirits
Daityas, Danavas, Yaksas, Lords of Nagas,
Wrathful Dakinis,wild birds, tigers,
And dreadful creatures forthwith take flight at
But the remembrance of Thy sweet name,
And are powerless to do aught of evil!
One who serves Thy lotus feet, he surpasses
The lord of speech, and obtains the beauty of Kama.
He can charm and paralyze all creatures,
And has power to stay the flow of water.
The Siddhi and prosperity are under his control.
Whoever, being pure and self-controlled,
Reads this wonderful hymn to Goddess Taara,
At morn, at noon, and at evening,
To him is given immortal wisdom,
Imperishable fortune, the enjoyment
Of whatsoever he may desire,
Fame, beauty, and wealth,
The love of all human beings,
And at the end liberation!
