Past Happenings and Future Wishes
As the embers of the year 2010 slowly dies
The flames of 2011, towers up into the skies
There were happy as well as challenging moments, one can't deny
But in the new yea let optimism run very high.
At least behind us is one chapter of the recession
There were some hardships, but we survive that session
Even though the times ahead may bring a feeling of some apprehension
Because there seems not be any good news; in the predictions.
Let us not think that the worse of it is behind
Because there can be changes during the progress of time
But let us be watchful and from the previous year's lesson prepare
And try to be ready for the economic land mine, that may be there.
As always time passes with a mixture of joy and sadness
During the year there were those occasions of darkness
Because friends, family both near and far and some celebrities
Had to make a bow form life's stage in their glories.
No one can forget that ever present threat of terrorism
These actions are always creating anxiety and many other problems
Because there is no way of telling, where and when they will strike
Leaving such a carnage that is not such a pleasant site.
Who would forget that period of such a great controversy
When there was a blame that was apportioned on a company named BP
There was that leaking from an off shore oil well made sure
It depositied loads of crude that threatened a coastal sea shore.
Let us hope that all is tried in each and every department
To listen to and heed the message transmitted by the environment
Because as can be seen, most of those who had departed
Were overcome by cancer, which on their health impacted.
Let us hope that banks would be more creative on debtors
Being more sensitive and compassionate to those home owners
Try to work on some measures that could ease that pressure
Placed on those who are unfortunately facing a foreclosure.
As we approach the new year, let us in some cases exercise caution
Sit, think look at, and assess ones every situation
Acknowledge that there is still some degree of uncertainty
But in the mind and action, keep those thoughts positively.
