Midnight's Run
We dragged our feet and in doing
We failed but now we are pursuing
The path to change, to make amends
Rewrite, edit this story's end
An end where new beginnings flow
Asked of above to Him I told
Of one I love held close and dear
Though short of breath I may appear
I'll keep patience and too Gods guide
Staying the course, in Him confide
Who knows my story very well
Mending whats broken apart what fell
These words written some read before
Race against time within heart pour
For here is where I came to know
Her, my beloved who made it so
There is life beyond these pages
Of chapters read, where set are stages
Construct upon and hold fast to
To love unlike as once we knew
I know there is much to rebuild
But promises shall be fulfilled
Of things spoken yet to become
What could await past midnight's run
