I'm telling you now, it is no fun!
Writing these poems with fingers so numb!
The cold's in my bones, in agony all over,
Yep, I tell you, this body's no bed of clover!
Me bones are aching, sore and weak,
No matter what I do, I've no solace to seek!
I take all my meds, but oh woe is me,
They don't work that well on my pain you see!
So I have to use a wheelchair for 14 years,
Oh the shame, I've cried many tears!
My bones are breaking, and I'm so sore,
Most days I feel I can't take any more.
But I do, I get through it all, cos you see,
I have one life, and it's important to me!
My bones are crumbling; I've got arthritis all over,
Like I said before, it's no bed of clover!
But I do well, I get by, and I smile away,
But it seems to get harder every day.
Then along comes a letter, oh dear me,
I'm under investigation, for making a false claim,
I know who did this to me, and I'm going insane!
I've osteoporosis, and arthritis in this body of mine,
Scoliosis, breaks, and prolapsed discs of the spine!
And on top of that, I've many other complaints,
It's a wonder I'm sane, and not in body restraints!
Heart disease and angina, epilepsy too,
Thyroid disease and 5 tumours, what can I do?!
My knees are knackered, battered and bruised,
I have to tell you, they're no good to use!
I'm diabetic as well, and my eyes are bleeding!
So you can imagine why I am seething!
The nerves are damaged so I'm numb on my leg,
The kidneys and bladder too, but I'm not going to beg!!
They did massive surgery to me at 30 yrs old;
I should have had HRT but I wasn't told!
With no HRT in my body, this is why I'm like this,
...And the result of no hormones is: my health's a mess!
So they put me in a wheelchair some 14 years ago,
Then I get these forms, for what? I didn't know?!
Then I read the note they put in the letter they sent,
Someone said I'm a fraud, I didn't know what it meant?
So I phoned them up, I was most upset you see,
That someone out there could do that to me!
But I know who it is, it's definitely my brother,
You wouldn't think we had the same mother!
So I'm under investigation, but you can be sure,
I told them who did this, cos I know the score!
They are time wasters and have wasted their time,
So pretty soon he won't be feeling fine!
When this is all over, I jest you not...
They will get their just deserts and it will be a lot!
For the fine they will give them will be much,
Maybe I better lend him my crutch?
Cos he'll need it to lean on when this is over,
And now ‘their' life won't be a bed of clover!!
