Earthquake

That night as I can recall, I only had a drink or two
But was this enough to cause what I went through?
This i do not think was the quantity to bowl me over
So that I could experience such an hang over.

When I woke, the ceiling looked like it was moving
The pictures on the wall appeared to be shaking sliding
The room felt like it was rocking to and fro
But why was this happening, I did not know

When the bed slid across the room
Then returned to is position quite soon
The spoons in the kitchen, sounded like they were jingling
And the cupboard doors like they opened and the glasses fell out were breaking

Somewhere deep in my mind, I thought I heard people shouting
But put it off, that I was  dreaming or the drinks talking
So I lept out of bed, the floor seemed to move and down I came crashing
Dased now and sort of scared, I lay there just momentarily and thinking.

Getting to my hand and knees, I crawled to the bedroom door
To my surprise lots, of thing were strewn all over the floor
Have i been robbed, then the thief has to be inside
But then he has to be inside, where else can he hide

Well cautiously crawling and looking, I inched my way to the kitchen
What I saw reinforced my belief that the place got  a good trashing
The door was still locked, and all look so secure
Suppose he was inside, and was the one who closed the door.

Then I was jolted back, when i heard on the door a pounding
I was so glad, that over it I began a loud shouting
Saying "there is thief in the house catch him for goodness sake!"
They just smile and said - "no you had just experienced and earthquake."
