God Kept Me Strong!God kept me strong all of my life, Through every trial, through every strife! He guided me and carried me when I was low, Never once left me, even though I didn't know! It was only when I was older that I knew... That He was at my side, through and through! Walked with me, talked with me in my head, Even when I wished that I was dead. He had a plan for me you see... And gave me a gift that strengthened me! Now all that time I felt so alone, He was there, heard every belt and groan. I thought He'd abandoned me; it's what I thought, Cos no matter how I prayed, no solace was sought! I prayed for death many a time... Why? Cos the punishment was without crime! As a child I didn't know much about God, Had I done so, I'd know He's a busy bod! But as I grew older, of course I knew! And now I've got salvation, I hope you have too! So what I am saying is, never give in! Cos God will help you and help you win! He gives us free will so He lets us be, Like he did my father, hoping he'd see... See the error and wrong of his ways, And find salvation all of his days. I won't ever know if he did when he died, Cos at the last minute if you cried... ‘LORD please forgive me for all I did bad!'
