Crystal clear water, calm and reflective, a painter's paradise
Water lilies of violet and white, shaded by a Weeping Willow
In sync upon the waters calm, Loons sing of Twilight's arrival
Mother Nature supplies the window dressing for Summer's Eve anew
Picturesque Cottage covered in flora and ivy, reflects on the lake
Nestled between a canopy of tall Oaks are majestic Ponderous Pines
A manicured yard and patriotically Thy Country's Flag is flown high
Stacked outside the Cottage, a wall of firewood for a winter's blow
There's a canoe and row boat always tied out back at the Pier
Songbirds sing from morn to night, in peace and in tranquility
There's a pair of Trumpet Swans with a clutch in tow each year
Racing atop the trees are squirrels in continuous game of tag
If I'm asked do I love my cottage in the country I call "Mirror Lake"
There's only one answer I'd reply, best stated by "Elizabeth Browning"
"How do I love Thee? Let me count the ways. I love Thee to every days
most quiet need. I love Thee to the heights and depths my soul can reach."
"And if God should so choose, I shall love Thee better after death."
