IN THE SHAPE OF INNOCENCE

IN THE SHAPE OF INNOCENCE

Oh fair maiden behind the dark cloaked fear
So taunted by shapes that suddenly appear
White gloves that never cover the past
Nor shut out those things that eternally last
Lost maiden of time amid patches of fear

He'd sewn his iniquity on the hem of her heart
Silver threaded words that played their part
He twisted lying into bracelets of charm
Always and forever unforgivable harm
Cross-stitching evil across the hem of her heart

She painted the scars around imperfections
Bringing mirrored images to her reflections
His naked words cloaked her immaturity
Forever an alphabet of insecurity
Her painted words with imperfections

Rock me in the shape of innocence—Once More

En forme d'innocence
