Who I Am ღ KKD ღ
Who I Am...
I find it so odd
that many like me for me
Yes the me
you refuse to see.
For years on egg shells
I have walked
Each word is guarded
when I've talked
I always had to worry
About what I wear
For fear of getting
the disapproving stare
I don't understand the need
in the judging of what I say
Even after the battering
I still stand strong today
Its seems very little
I ever did right
No longer do your words
haunt me at night
Your life is yours
and my life is mine
That to me has been made clear
Unity? Well I fear not enough time
After so many years of not
I now really now like who I am
My shoes you've never walked
and I pray you never can
There are those from my heart
you will never steal
For the love they gave
is all that was real
It's not by my choice
but our paths divide
I reject your disapproval
as you reject my life's stride
There is one small thing
that has sadly been overlooked
I am Who I am
As it is written in God's book.
