Changing Valentine Season
As a youngster in school when it comes to art
It was good feeling to draw a set of hearts
This I would decorate when it was the season of Valentine
And give it to my mother, as a present around that time.
In my time of courting it was a pleasure to use poetry
To make the girlfriend blush, as so was decorated with similes
As we stroll along breathing in what was then very clean air
Holding hands, and I also ran my fingers through her hair.
Those times would evoke some act of such spontaneity
Actions on Valentine's day was something of an originality
Now businesses has converted it into an commercial activity
And it is amazing to see how that go about it some competitively.
On the street it was such a delight, and a very breathtaking sight
To see lots of ladies as they parade, dressed in red and white
Then those work places, where so cluttered with deliveries
It was such an awe, to see the designs of those floral formulae.
That night in the restaurants are such a clatter and lots of chatter
As the lover get together, around a candle light dinner
Eating and drinking, letting the wine permeate the mind
As this will set the stage, for later as there will be a better time.
Like all things in life there is that change, to suit
And so all festivities have taken a now have that route
So valentine where on express that love in levity and so happily
Has now become a commodity on the shelves in business city.
