Here's to our resident coconut
but she doesn't grow on a tree,
she resides in a special little hut
and she grows on you and me.
Hawaii is where she came from
and we all know her name,
she chants away in dreams
and to the island we come
and she enchants us just the same.
She's always cookin up something sweet
for us to read and enjoy whatta poet,
her words are always such a treat
as lovely as a pig on a spit.
So janie when you read this
just know that we enjoy,
your poetry that has such bliss
and that you're 10 times better
than milk and honey with poi.
She no longer lives on the island
but her heart remains there,
and so hand in hand
her aloha spirit i share!
