 125. Blossoming Beauty
(Inspired by Dave P 's starter line)

I dropped to
Earth
A golden seed
& from it
Grew a flower
Unlike any
Other.

Gossamer filaments
Burst forth
Unfurling petals
Of kindness
& compassion,
With the deepest
Violet streaks
Of forgiveness,
Scented with
The lavender
Of angel's tears.

But who could have
Ever
Imagined
Such a thing
Would blossom
In the dark dank
Soil of human
Refuse?
Bitterness,
Distain…
Hatred even!?!

Then I hear
Myself speak
Aloud
Echoing across
The cosmos.

“You did.”

Then
All at once
My life
Flashes before me.

The beatings,
Sickness,
Abuse…
Ridicule…
Rape...
And every dark
Thing that had
Ever
Happened
To me.

Then realized
I couldn't be
The blossoming beauty
I had become
Without it.
